Former NBA center Chris Silva joins Israeli club Bnei Herzliya

(MENAFN-IANS) Jerusalem, July 22 (IANS) Israeli Super League club Bnei Herzliya on Sunday announced the signing of former NBA player Chris Silva for one season.

The 27-year-old center from Gabon played college basketball in South Carolina and played 70 NBA games between 2019 and 2023, including 64 with the Miami Heat. His NBA averages were 2.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.

In recent months, he has played for the Piratas de Quebradillas and Mets de Guaynabo of the Liga Baloncesto Superior Nacional in Puerto Rico, Xinhua reports.

“Chris is an important signing for us,” said Herzliya head coach Yehu Orland. “He plays strongly on both sides of the field and brings many qualities that will help the team.”
