The 2024 Marucci World Series begins in southeast Louisiana – Crescent City Sports

The opening ceremony for the 8th annual Marucci World Series took place Sunday at Alex Box Stadium and included a tailgate party and other activities.

The World Series will be played at 22 sites in southeast Louisiana, including Baton Rouge, Plaquemine, Mandeville and Hammond, with games scheduled for Monday through Friday.

Sunday’s opening ceremony included a Home Run Derby, Fastest Man Contest, Catcher’s Gear Scramble and the championship trophy display. The event will showcase youth baseball teams from 14U to 17U who compete in some of the best amateur baseball competitions in the country. Attendance is by invitation only.

The 2024 Marucci World Series will host 149 teams from 26 Marucci Franchise Club and Founders’ Club organizations from 17 states, including teams from Canada and South Korea. Friday’s championship round semifinals and finals will be held for the four age groups at the following locations:

• 9:00 a.m. 14U semifinals / 12:00 p.m. 14U championship at University High School, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
• 9:00 a.m. 15U semifinals / 12:00 p.m. 15U championship at Live Oak High School, Watson, Louisiana
• 9:00 a.m. 16U Semifinals / 12:00 p.m. 16U Championship at St. Amant High School, St. Amant, Louisiana
• 9:00 a.m. 17U semifinals / 12:00 p.m. 17U championship at Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, Louisiana
