On Sunday afternoon, liberals fell into a nervous breakdown after the historic news broke that Democrat Joe Biden had dropped out of the race for the 2024 presidential election.

Chris Coons, co-chair of the Biden/Harris campaign, appeared on CBS News red-faced and crying and said it was a “difficult decision” to drop the president from the race.

Crying Coons, who is also a senator for Delaware, sobbed as he looked into the distance, took deep breaths and tried to regain his composure on national television.

CNN’s Van Jones was emotional and teary-eyed on the air as he discussed Biden’s decision to drop out of the race and let Kamala Harris take the Democratic nomination.

Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow gave a brilliant speech to viewers on MSNBC, explaining that Biden’s decision to stay away from the election was not what he really wanted – but that he did it for the good of the country.

CNN’s Van Jones burst into tears live on air as he discussed Biden’s decision to drop out of the race and let Kamala Harris take the Democratic nomination.

She said on Sunday: “I cannot see any aspect of his personality that makes today’s decision possible. This is the opposite of something that is natural or easy for him.”

“He is simply not designed to do something like this. His making this decision today should give the country a reasonable chance of not putting Donald Trump back in the White House,” she added.

Viewers were stunned to see Jones’ tears on television – as he made the confession: “Biden’s body may not be as strong as it once was … but his heart is as big as ever.”

One person tweeted in response: “Van Jones cries on CNN over Biden’s selfless act for his country.”

Another wrote: “Van Jones crying on CNN is pathetic. Grow up man.” And a third added: “Van Jones crying on CNN again. Get the guy OUT OF HERE.”

In response to Senator Coons’ tears, one person wrote, “Coons just lost his job, of course he’s crying.” And another added, “It’s crazy that there are actually people out there who think this way.”

Last month, MSNBC host Maddow said she feared Trump would put her in an internment camp if he was re-elected in the coming election year.

In an interview with CNN senior media reporter Oliver Darcey, Maddow was asked about her concerns about personally being targeted by the Trump administration if he wins the 2024 presidential election.

“Trump and his allies talk openly about using the government as a weapon to exact revenge on critics in the media and politics. Some of his extremist allies even talk about locking up their fellow Americans,” Darcy said. “You are one of his most prominent critics on television. Are you concerned that you could become a target?”

Maddow responded, “I worry about the country as a whole if we put someone in power who openly declares that he plans to build camps for millions of people and ‘exterminate’ what he calls in inhumane terms his ‘enemy within.'”

“Here, too, history is helpful. He’s not joking when he says that, and we’ve seen what happens when people with that kind of agenda come to power.”

“I think there’s a bit of complacency in thinking that Trump will only attack individuals he’s already singled out. Do you really think he’ll stop at known liberals?

“It also seems pretty clear that some politicians think they’re safe – and might even benefit – by siding with Trump. Ask Mike Pence how that ends up working out.

“If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act to use the U.S. military against civilians on his first day in office, do you think he will rescind that order on the second day?

She continued: “What actually convinces you that these huge camps he’s planning are just for migrants? So, yes, I’m worried about myself – but only as much as I’m worried about all of us.”

President Biden dropped out of the race for the 2024 presidential nomination on Sunday, setting off an unprecedented chain of events that has forced Democrats to desperately fight for a candidate to top the ballot less than four months before Election Day.

The Democratic Party Convention is scheduled to begin in Chicago from August 19 to 22. This is where Biden officially accepted the nomination after winning 3,896 delegates in the primaries.

More than 4,600 delegates and thousands of other party officials will now travel to the city without Biden running as the likely Democratic nominee.

The President made the announcement in a letter to his fellow Americans, in which he wrote that it had been the greatest honor of his life to serve as President while also pledging his support to Vice President Kamala Harris.

“While it was my intention to run for re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country that I step down and focus exclusively on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he wrote.

His announcement came just weeks after the president’s disastrous performance in the debates raised questions about whether he was fit for a second term.

Some Democratic lawmakers publicly called on him to drop out of the race. Others kept their opinions behind closed doors.
