Phase 1 – Report

Rounds: 50 (1-50 / 160)

Green flag, they drive side by side into the first corner. Reddick overtakes him in the second corner.

Lap 7, Elliott runs into Hamlin in turn 2. Hamlin tries to block him, but Elliott drives right past and takes second.

Lap 42, the first pit stop is completed. Hamlin takes the lead. Larson is 0.5 seconds behind.

Pit Penalties: Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski have to serve a drive-through penalty after crossing the white line at the pit exit. Austin Cindric is caught speeding and also has to serve a drive-through penalty.

2 left in the first stage, Chris Buescher has gone up in smoke, no caution.

Denny Hamlin wins the first stage at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

Phase 2 – Report

Rounds: 50 (51-100 / 160)

Hamlin leads the majority of the field into pit lane. Ty Gibbs wins the race until the pit exit with only two tires. 7 cars stay out while Reddick and McDowell take over the front row.

Green flag on stage two, Reddick passes McDowell in turn one but goes wide. John Hunter Nemechek rolls down and works his way under Reddick. Nemechek takes the lead!

Cody Ware lost a left rear tire, caution.

Nemechek and many of the leaders head to pit road. Larson runs into trouble returning to pit road with a possible loose wheel. Kyle Busch and Todd Gilliland take over the front row as Nemechek restarts in 12th.

Green, Busch has a clear path into turn one. Bubba Wallace takes second place. William Byron is caught in turn two when he drives three cars apart from Preece and Burton. Byron spins across the track and rams AJ Allmendinger. The caution is issued.

Busch pits from the lead while most of the field stays out. Bubba Wallace takes the lead.

Green, Wallace overtakes Elliott and maintains the lead.

2 more, many cars are driving into the pit lane.

Bubba Wallace stays out and wins the second stage at the IMS!

Phase 3 – Report

Rounds: 60 (101-160 / 160)

Wallace leads most of the leaders into the pit lane. Hamlin and the others stay outside. Wallace restarts in 19th place. Hamlin and Nemechek move to the front row.

Green flag on the third stage, Hamlin has a clear path before the first corner and the two drive side by side for second place. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. takes second place away from him.

Kyle Larson and Martin Truex Jr. rub the doors and Truex Jr. touches the wall. Josh Berry turns around behind him, careful.

Green, three of them are driving far apart into the first corner in the middle of the field. Ryan Blaney is trapped. Joey Logano and Jimmie Johnson are steered into the wall of the first corner! Blaney saves. The caution is issued again.

Hamlin pits from the lead, bringing a ton of cars with him. Nemechek and Chastain take the front row as Hamlin restarts in 18th.

Green, Chastain overtakes Nemechek and takes the lead!

39 more green flag stops in progress.

With 36 minutes to go, Martin Truex Jr. spins and the caution is issued! Gragson, Hocevar, Keselowski, Blaney and others still have to pit.

Gragson and Hocevar head for the pit lane. Keselowski takes the lead.

Green, Keselowski overtakes Hemric in the first corner.

16 races to go. This is now a fuel economy race for many of the leaders. However, Larson is getting good fuel economy and flying through the field to 7th.

13 to go, Larson works his way past Hamlin in turn two and takes 5th place!

11 left, Larson in 4th place.

9 to go, Keselowski leads. Blaney Larson dives past Hemric in turn three and takes third!

With 5 laps left, Keselowski, Blaney and Larson are bumper to bumper at the front of the field.

4 to go, Blaney throws a block on Larson.

3 to go, Kyle Busch is stuck in the wall and the warning is out!

Hamlin and the others head to pit lane. Keselowski, Blaney and Larson all stay outside.

Keselowski has run out of fuel and is heading to the pit lane for the restart.

Green in NASCAR overtime, Larson and Blaney run side by side into the first corner. Nemechek blocks Hemric in the first corner. Both go sideways and get caught in the inside wall of the pit lane. As they slide across the track, Hamlin, Briscoe and Bowman are picked up. The caution is issued.

Green in NASCAR Overtime #2, Larson and Blaney drive side by side into the first corner. Larson wins the battle after the corner! Reddick takes 2nd place. Ryan Preece spins behind them and gets stuck on the apron.

1 more, be careful and the race is over.
