In 2019, Kamala Harris wrote a campaign autobiography, The truths we have. It was a big part of my support for her at the start of the 2019-2020 presidential campaign. Let me give you a very brief summary, consisting of the notes I’ve included in the table of contents next to the chapter headings.
Then go out and buy the book. (Now also available in paperback and young reader’s edition.)

Chapter Ten – “What I learned”
Eight mottos . . .
- Test the hypothesis.
- Go to the crime scene.
- Embrace the everyday.
- Show the math.
- No one should have to fight alone.
- If it’s worth fighting for, then it’s worth fighting for.
- You may be the first, but not the last.
Go out and get the book now. The discussion of life mottos in chapter ten is a good campaign starter.
