Major spin-off of “The Voice” planned after the children’s version was canceled after seven seasons

I can reveal that a CELEBRITY edition of The Voice is in the works.

ITV Bosses love the wholesome, fun atmosphere of the singing talent show – and plan to build on its popularity by producing a spin-off featuring famous faces.

The original, in which audiences were judged solely on their voices, will return in the fall with a new season featuring Sir Tom Jones, Leann Rimes, Will.i.am, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher in the judges’ chairs, and a 14th season has been ordered for 2025.

I can reveal, however, that a Star-Spangled special is also being considered for this filming cycle and some celebrities have already been approached.

A source said: “The Voice is perfect, family-friendly television and remains a big part of ITV’s schedule. A celebrity version has been discussed at ITV Studios and a number of names have been interviewed to see if they are up for it.

“ITV’s own talent known to have good voices such as Amanda Holden, Jason Manford and Corrie’s Andy Whyment are expected to sign alongside other celebs from across the world of showbiz.

“At this point, there are no further details on what it will look like and it has not been officially commissioned yet.”

Spin-off on ice

“The Voice” has been running on ITV since 2017 with Emma Willis as presenter after the broadcaster took over the show from BBC One.

Last summer, ITV put spin-off The Voice Kids on ice after seven seasons, but hinted that standalone series were in the works. A spokesperson added: “We are working with Lifted Entertainment on The Voice UK for 2024 and developing specials.”

A celebrity version would be something really special.
