“The older I get, the more grateful I am to be in this position,” she said. “These days, I’m literally just grateful to get out of bed. Gratitude comes easily to me.”

“Last year there were four months where I found it really hard to get out of bed. I had back problems, which I have now solved wonderfully, but now I know that getting out of bed is no small feat.”

Nowadays, She is more determined than ever to enjoy life and musicand she vows to always be open-minded about younger generations of musicians and the great things they can do.

“When I see my father, at 85, still excited about Beyoncé’s new album, I know there is no hope for me. The music has captured me and that is my world. I feel very inspired by it and can’t imagine ever stopping.”
