Warning labels are the next battle in the insane war over gas stove bans

There’s never been a modern convenience that environmentalists didn’t hate: In the next battle in the great gas stove war, environmental groups in New York, California and elsewhere are pushing bills that would require the appliances to carry warning labels about the toxic fumes they supposedly emit.

Yes, this is clearly an urgent problem, unlike smaller problems like rampant crime, drugs and homelessness.

Worse still, the claim that gas stoves are toxic is pure air.

A large-scale study involving hundreds of thousands of participants found no connection – none at all – between the use of gas stoves and asthma.

The claim that they are harmful comes from the radical left-wing pressure group Rocky Mountain Institute, which is spreading this narrative to advance its goal of decarbonizing all emissions.

And the draft laws on warning labels are clearly intended to prepare the way for a nationwide ban.

Doesn’t anyone think about the children?

But it is clearly the green extremists who are driving policy, and not just when it comes to stoves: through regulations passed by the Biden administration in 2023, they have made the installation of central air conditioning systems significantly more expensive; more such regulations are due to come into force in 2025.

And they have been waging a battle over dishwashers and washing machines for years, enforcing Obama-era regulations that made them less effective (e.g., requiring run times of nearly two hours), which were repealed in the Trump years but pushed back by the Energy Department under Biden.

The Grens are terrified of all these modern devices like plumbing and electricity in the house.

It’s a “thawed caveman” vibe: Grug doesn’t like the noise coming from the box of clean laundry. Grug is scared!

All this is done under the pretext of reducing emissions.

As if climate change were caused by old refrigerator models (and not by China’s coal-fired power plants, about which the environmentalists are by and large strangely silent).

And strangely enough, these are the same people who want you to go through life with dirty clothes and force you to cook everything on souped-up hotplates never demand more nuclear power.

(Many of them, like Vice President Kamala Harris, also have gas stoves.)

In fact, in the Empire State, climate fanatics participated in the movement that led to the closure of the Indian Point nuclear power plant and pushed high -Emissions.

Good job, guys!

The proof of all this is about power of a political and social nature.

These nutcases claim they care about the planet, but in reality they’re just telling you what to do, even if it doesn’t make sense.

Forcing Americans to abandon 21st century—or, heck, 20th century—standards of living is a delight.
