Kim Gordon says she’s “not really a fan of” Taylor Swift

The truth is, you can’t impress everyone. Despite her global appeal, Taylor Swift is no exception. Celebrities and even members of the royal family flock to see the “Fortnight” singer live in concert. But don’t expect to see former Sonic Youth guitarist Kim Gordon there.

During an interview with The guardGordon made that more than clear. When asked what her “most controversial opinion on pop culture” was, she addressed Swift.

“I don’t know if it’s controversial,” she said. “But I’m not a huge fan of Taylor Swift.”

This isn’t the first time an artist has expressed disinterest in Swift. Back in April, Courtney Love called Swift “unimportant” or “interesting as an artist.” But Gordon’s next confession is where Swifties are stuck.

“I couldn’t really tell you what their music sounded like,” she said.

To say you’re not a fan but can’t remember what their music sounds like is pretty bold. According to her statement, Gordon apparently offered fans an alternative singer they could rally behind.

“When it comes to pop icons,” she said, “I would choose Billie Eilish.”

Taylor Swift did not respond to Courtney Love’s comments, so she probably won’t respond to Gordon’s comments either.
