Childish Gambino inspires Drake beef theories on “Bando Stone” cut “Yoshinoya”: Stream

Childish Gambino presents us with a chaotic, lush and lively sound on his new album Bando Stone and the New Worldbut there are still some somber and grounded moments in comparison. One of them is the track “Yoshinoya”, which might be the most “normal” hip-hop song on the project compared to the other lyrical delivery and rap-like beats. This is thanks to some triplet flow variations in the first part of the song and a harder and more aggressive boom-bap second half with calmly delivered but still fiery flows.

Given Childish Gambino’s whole posturing and combative lyricism on “Yoshinoya,” some people think this is a diss of Drake. But there are about as many swaggering and smoking moments on the album as there are lines that suggest he doesn’t really care about the drama in the industry. Whether or not Drizzy or even Joe Budden were Donald Glover’s enemies on “Yoshinoya,” Bando Stoneit seems as if his aim was to show a contrast and an inner conflict.

Regardless, “Yoshinoya” is still a really well-produced banger with plenty of quotes and will likely be featured on Childish Gambino’s highly anticipated tour. I’m allergic to the drama, you saw me and Tyler, I’m allergic to that rap shit,
Made a song, but spent more time writing the title,
I am an actor, you can do that on set, I am all about action,
