Prince William takes children to Taylor Swift’s Wembley Eras concert

Prince William is said to have taken his children to Taylor Swift’s performance at Wembley Stadium on Friday (21.06.24).
The prince, who was celebrating his 42nd birthday, is said to have booked a private box to attend the highly anticipated show alongside ten-year-old Prince George, nine-year-old Princess Charlotte and six-year-old Prince Louis.
The concert was the first of eight dates that Taylor, 34, will play at Wembley as part of her record-breaking “The Eras Tour,” and she praised the 89,000 people in attendance at the London venue.
The “Cardigan” singer said: “Oh my God. London, look what you’ve done.
“What better way to spend a Friday night than in the most exciting city in the world?”
In addition to the royals, numerous other stars were also present at the event – including Taylor’s NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce, supermodel Cara Delevingne and “Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan.
William and Swift are already acquainted, as he followed her on stage “like a puppy” at a charity gala in 2013 to sing a rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
In a 2021 podcast, the Queen reflected on the experience, saying: “To this day, I don’t know what came over me. Frankly, even now I shudder at what happened next and I don’t understand why I gave in.”
“But honestly, when Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm and says, ‘Come with me…’, I immediately jump up like a little puppy and say, ‘Yeah, okay, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you.'”
William added that he started to “sweat” when he realized halfway through the performance that he didn’t know the lyrics.
He recalled: “I woke up and thought to myself, ‘Am I going to stand on stage and sing… when I don’t even know the lyrics?’
“I can’t be the fool who ruins it for everyone. And so I try desperately to remember some of the words and sing as loud as I can.
“I was sweating profusely under my black tie. I felt like a swan, trying to keep its composure on the outside, but on the inside its little legs were paddling fast.”
