Paparazzi filmed the arrival and departure at Taylor Swift’s 34th birthday party, but now Swift is sharing her insider impressions.

The singer posted a carousel of photos from her party, where she was served a Milk Bar confetti cake with the title “Birthday Girl of the Year” by Zoë Kravitz. Other guests pictured included Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, Jack Antonoff, Sabrina Carpenter, Alana and Este Haim, Abigail Anderson Berard and many more. (Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce was unable to attend as he had a football practice for the Kansas City Chiefs in Missouri.)

“Can’t you believe this year… actually… happened?” Swift wrote. “Thank you for all your beautiful birthday wishes yesterday. 🥲”

Swift spoke with Time Magazine in an interview last week about how she views this time in her life. “I’ve climbed up and down the flagpole of public opinion so many times over the last 20 years,” Swift began. “I’ve been given a tiara and then taken it away. It feels like the breakthrough moment of my career, at 33. And for the first time in my life, I was mentally strong enough to endure what came with that.”

“I’m prouder and happier than I’ve ever been and have felt more creatively fulfilled and free than I’ve ever felt before,” she added. “At the end of the day, we can complicate it as much as we want, or try to complicate it, but there’s just one question: Doesn’t that entertain you?”

She also spoke about her decision to live her life more publicly after years of trying to stay out of the spotlight. “Over the years, I’ve learned that I don’t have the time or the bandwidth to deal with things that don’t matter,” Swift said. “Yes, when I go out to dinner, it’s total chaos outside the restaurant. But I still want to go out to dinner with my friends. Life is short. Go on adventures. I locked myself in my house for many years – I’ll never get that time back. I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago.”
