Drake gives his fans back “what they love about me,” reveals DJ Akademiks

According to DJ Akademiks, Drake is apparently back to making the kind of music his fans want to hear. The streamer recently spoke about what he’s heard from the Toronto rapper about his plans for new music, and revealed what Drake had to say about his next direction.

“You could say this is a confirmed thing,” Akademiks began. “That’s him to me. He says, ‘Yo Ak, I’m back to giving everyone that loves me what they love about me.’ That’s a direct quote. Y’all got it. That’s all I can say from him.” When the clip made its way to X (formerly Twitter), fans had mixed reactions to the news. “Bro been telling his fans for the past three albums that he’s going back to his old sound, I don’t believe it,” one user wrote. Another said, “I hope so, personally I honestly want a Drake/Wayne collab album which I think is something like NWTS.”

This is far from the first time that Akademiks has hinted in recent weeks that he knows about new music from Drake. He previously hinted that the “Family Matters” rapper plans to secretly diss Kendrick Lamar soon. “It’s really never over. I can’t wait to hear the first secret diss,” he said. “Actually, I’m not going to tell you what I heard, but the first secret diss that Drake got that disses Kendrick and how he positions that, that’s going to be interesting.” He has been feuding with Lamar for several months.
