Sarah Geronimo explains reason for return to “The Voice”

28th March – Sarah Geronimo had previously stated that she turned down her role as a coach on “The Voice Kids” because it felt like a role play. That’s why the singer was confusing to many when she was announced as the fourth coach for the upcoming show “The Voice Teens”.

However, as Rappler reports, the pop princess has her own reasons for doing so: she hopes to learn more by coaching young talents.

“I have mixed feelings. I’m glad I’m finally back. I’m doing this for the aspiring singers, the teenagers who are really talented,” she said.

She also hopes that participating in the show can help her express herself better.

“For me, this is a challenge because I’m not used to marketing myself. I’m not that good at speaking. So this is a challenge for me to practice, to communicate and to be outspoken,” she said.

In addition, Geronimo stated that she could not miss the opportunity to work with her fellow coaches Lea Salonga, Bamboo and Sharon Cuneta – the latter of whom she replaced in the last season of “The Voice Kids”.

“It’s not every day that you get to work with icons in the music industry, so this is a real pleasure for me,” she added.
