BLUE EYE SAMURAI and X-MEN ’97 lead the race for this year’s Emmy for Best Animated Series

X-Men ’97 And Blue-Eyed Samurai seem to be the favorites for this year’s Emmy Award for Best Animated Series, but do not rule out Scavengers rule.

This year’s Emmy for Best Animated Series is likely to be the most hotly contested in years.

While long-standing favorites The simpsons And Bob’s Burgers were nominated this year, animation fans believe X-Men ’97 or Blue-Eyed Samurai will receive the coveted award this year. Scavengers rulecould be an outsider waiting in the wings.

Scavengers rule has the highest approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes (100%) with an average score of 8.7 out of 10. X-Men ’97 is just behind with 99% approval and an average rating of 8.2 out of 10. Blue-Eyed Samurai ranks third with 96% approval and an average rating of 8 out of 10.

“Bob’s Burgers” and “The Simpsons” have approval ratings in the mid- to high-80s, but these numbers are based on all previous seasons, not just the most recent.

While Scavengers rule After being canceled on Max earlier this year, the series recently moved to Netflix, where the streamer is reportedly gauging viewer interest to decide whether to make a second season. An Emmy win would certainly give the sci-fi epic a real chance.

Another big question surrounding the Emmy nomination is whether the series’ executive producer and showrunner/head writer Beau DeMayo will be invited to the ceremony. DeMayo was summarily fired before Season 1 aired and did not even appear in the special behind the scenes of the show for Disney+.

Rumor has it that the reason for DeMayo’s firing was so egregious that Disney and Marvel want nothing to do with DeMayo, while fans are clamoring for his return after a stellar first season.

Screenwriter Matthew Chauncey takes over DeMayo’s role in Season 2 and has reportedly changed a significant amount of the work DeMayo had completed before his Season 2 exit.
