Lawrence Taylor arrested after violating sex offender registration

NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Florida on July 17 on a felony warrant for his arrest. He was charged with failing to disclose a change of residence, which violates his registration as a registered sex offender. According to Pembroke Pines police, Taylor was released on bail on July 18 after turning himself in.

As The athlete Taylor’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, said the arrest was due to a “misunderstanding,” as reported, and announced his client would plead not guilty.

“As with the previous incident involving the same allegations, Mr. Taylor did not knowingly commit a crime. This situation is a significant misunderstanding,” Eiglarsh told the outlet. “We are confident that once prosecutors review the exculpatory evidence of Mr. Taylor’s innocence, he will again receive a favorable outcome.”

Accordingly NBC NewsTaylor had been arrested on the same charge in December 2021, and his requirement to register as a sex offender stemmed from his solicitation of an underage sex worker in 2011, which also led to him being charged with sexual misconduct. The girl claimed she was beaten and forced to go to Taylor’s New York hotel room. Taylor’s defense at the time, according to FoxNews

was that he did not know the girl was underage. Taylor claimed the girl told him she was 19.

Although Taylor, 65, is a member of the Hall of Fame and the New York Giants Ring of Honor, his reputation has been tarnished by numerous scandals since his induction into both. Ultimately, YahooTaylor was classified as a level one sex offender
