Vice President of Inter Milan describes the FIFA Club World Cup as an “opportunity to show our ambitions”

Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti believes the Nerazzurri can “show ambition” by participating in the upcoming Club World Cup.

In a video on FIFA’s official Twitter account, the Inter manager shared his thoughts on the upcoming expansion of the competition.

Next season, Inter will participate in the Club World Cup.

This will be part of an expansion of competition.

In the past, the Club World Cup was held in December, in the middle of the normal European club season.

This time it will be different. The FIFA competition takes place at the end of the European club season.

And more importantly, more teams will participate in the Club World Cup.

In previous seasons, only one team from each confederation took part in the competition. In the case of UEFA, it was the winner of the Champions League that took part.

The winners of the Champions League will also participate in the new format.

However, a number of new teams will be added, and the decision will be made based on the teams’ placement in the FIFA club performance rankings.

Inter Vice President Javier Zanetti: “Club World Cup an opportunity to show ambition”

At the end of next season, two teams will represent Serie A in the Club World Cup.

One of them is Inter. The Nerazzurri won the Serie A title last season after finishing second, first, second and third in the league table for the previous four seasons.

Inter also reached the final of the Champions League in the 2022/23 season. And in the 2019/20 season they were also in the final of the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Juventus Turin will participate in the Club World Cup next season.

Inter vice-president Zanetti commented on the competition: “I think it gives us the opportunity to understand what level a team is at.”

“And to show that we are ambitious.”

“It’s a competition where we compete against the best teams,” said Zanetti.

“And that will help us improve.”
