Baldur’s Gate 3 Actor Neil Newbon has revealed that he would “love” to reprise his iconic role of Astarion in future projects. Newbon received an Academy Award for his role as the vampire Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3and he has opened the door for a return at some point in the future.

Astarion is probably Baldur’s Gate 3most complex character. Brought to life by Neil Newbon’s award-winning Baldur’s Gate 3 performance, players can help him put his past behind him, for better or for worse. They can guide him down a better path, or help him become a vampire ascender, giving him a corrupting level of power that arguably still makes him a more useful ally. Players can even start a romance with him, adding even more complexity to Astarion. There’s a reason Newbon’s performance resonates so well – it takes an extremely talented actor to portray every nuance of Astarion’s character, good and bad.

Larian responds to a Baldur’s Gate 3 fan’s request for a romance with Aunt Ethel

Developer Larian Studios delivers a hilarious response to an online Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s request to romance Aunt Ethel.

In an interview with BAFTA, Neil Newbon spoke about the possibility of returning as Astarion in the future. On the possibility of returning once again, Newbon said: “I would love to play Astarion again, somehow… Live action or game, I don’t care. Grape juice advert, I don’t know, whatever.” From this answer, it is clear that Newbon enjoyed his work on the game, considering how willing he is to return to the role of Astarion in some form. He is not the only one who shares this opinion – a few months ago Baldur’s Gate 3 Actors Tracy Wiles and Samantha Béart confirmed that they are open to a future return to the series even without Larian’s involvement.

As well as a return to Baldur’s GateNeil Newbon also confirmed in the interview some other studios he would like to work with at some point in his career. In particular, he mentioned God of War‘s Sony Santa Monica, Marvel’s Spider-Man‘s Insomniac Games and The last of us Developer Naughty Dog, who also claims: “Bethesda stuff – I love Stand outMan. I would love to do that.” Even before his Baldur’s Gate 3 Success, the list of characters voiced by Neil Newbon includes some familiar faces from other titles, and with his reputation rising so much recently, he may well be able to work with one of his dream studios.

If Newbon should ever return to Baldur’s Gate 3he will almost certainly do so without Larian Studios. Earlier this year it was confirmed that Larian would withdraw from Baldur’s Gate series. Although the studio continues to release new patches for the game, it will not be involved in any potential sequel. Hopefully, any studio selected to support Larian on the Baldur’s Gate The series can do justice to Astarion if it decides to bring the character back alongside Neil Newbon.
