Fans stunned by Premier League star’s value as world’s 19 most expensive players revealed

The 19 most expensive players in world football have been announced, but one player’s ranking has caused a stir.

Transfer Markt, a website based in Germany, has a system that crunches numbers and sees the value of players around the world rise and fall depending on their performance.

The players are also obviously paying attention: Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly blocked the website because he was unhappy with his value.

Following the conclusion of the Euro 2024 and Copa America tournaments, a list of the most expensive players was compiled.

There have been huge upgrades for players like Rodri, Jamal Musiala and Lamine Yamal; the latter, at just 17 years old, is now valued at a paltry €120 million.

Four superstars share the top spot: Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe are all valued at 180 million euros.

The five are completed by last season’s Premier League player, Phil Foden, who has a market value of 150 million euros.

He is €10 million ahead of his English teammate Bukayo Saka, but after failing to score or assist at Euro 2024, many fans are unhappy with Foden’s ranking.

One wrote: “How on earth is Foden still worth so much after his terrible performance at the European Championships?”

Another said: “Foden should not be above Saka.”

A third added: “If you gave every club in the world an unlimited transfer budget, none of them would spend €150 million on a ‘Phil Foden’.”

A fourth commented: “Foden is definitely not worth more than Saka.”
