St. Joseph County, Michigan – Police are investigating a theft that occurred at a southwest Michigan electrical substation in June.

According to Michigan State Police, a theft was reported at the AEP Mottville Substation, 10005 North River Road in Mottville, north of the Michigan-Indiana border, where several items appeared to have been stolen by someone who trespassed on the premises.

According to police, items taken from the scene include coils of copper cables and various types of tools.

The theft is said to have occurred on June 17, police said in a press release on July 20.

No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Michigan State Police Marshal Post at 269-558-0500.
