The heroic firefighter who was killed in the attempted assassination of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized President Biden’s divisive rhetoric months ago.
Corey Comperatore sharply criticized Biden over X after the commander in chief called Trump a “threat” to the nation.
“Trump poses many threats to our country: the right to choose, civil rights, the right to vote and America’s reputation in the world,” Biden wrote on December 20 on X“But the greatest threat he poses is our democracy. If we lose it, we lose everything.”

The former chief of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Department would not allow that to happen.
“We are not stupid people,” wrote married father of two Comperatore, 50, in response to Biden’s post. “Stop talking to us like we are.”
The assassination attempt prompted Democrats to back away from years of violent rhetoric. It came just days after Biden said in a call with donors: “We’re done debating, it’s time to target Trump.”
Two other rally participants were seriously injured on July 13 when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on the rally from a nearby roof, narrowly missing Trump’s head.
Comperatore’s widow Helen refused to speak to Biden after the shooting out of respect for her husband, she said.
“He wouldn’t have wanted me to talk to him,” she previously told The Post, adding that she bore no “resentment” toward the president.
Hours before the rally, her husband proudly shared on social media his plans to attend the event on behalf of the Republican candidate.
“So what are you guys up to this weekend?” the MAGA X account “Catturd” asked its followers this morning.
“Trump rally! Butler, PA,” Comperatore replied hours before he was fatally shot.
Hundreds gathered for Comperatore’s funeral at Cabot United Methodist Church on Friday.
