Taylor Swift went above and beyond the call of duty for one of her fans by making a surprise appearance at his engagement party.

Alex Goldschmidt decided to propose to his now-husband Ross Girard after hearing Taylor’s 2017 hit “King of My Heart.” Alex emailed Taylor to tell her what the song meant to him, and she decided to give him a very special surprise.

In a new documentary called “Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood,” Alex recalls the engagement party, saying, “It’s a crazy story, but I decided to propose to my husband while I was in the car listening to a song from her album ‘Reputation.’ The song is called ‘King of my Heart.’

“So I just emailed her and let her know that I was so impressed with that song.” He added, “Which ultimately led to her coming to my engagement party and singing the song on guitar.”

In 2019, Scooter purchased Taylor’s music catalog when he acquired Big Machine. Taylor was devastated, saying she felt like she was being bullied and not allowed to own her own masters.
