Suits: LA series order picked up at NBC

Great news for Suits Fans – there is officially more to come. The highly anticipated sequel to the original show, Suits: LAwhich received a pilot order earlier this year, has been officially picked up for series.

This means that the upcoming spinoff, set in sunny Los Angeles, will now definitely air on NBC and give fans a first glimpse into the world of Suits beyond the 2019 finale. The network confirmed on Friday that Suits: LA, The series, created by original series creator Aaron Korsh, has been ordered, but it’s unclear when it will actually premiere. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t already know a lot about what to expect from the show when it does air.

According to the series’ logline: “Ted Black, a former New York prosecutor, has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is in crisis, and to survive he must embrace a role he has despised his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a cast of outstanding characters who test their loyalty both to Ted and to each other as their personal and professional lives cannot help but intermingle.”

As previously reported, Suits: LA Stephen Amell will star as Ted Black alongside previously announced cast members Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, Bryan Greenberg and Troy Winbush. Unfortunately, there is no information yet on whether or not any cast members from the original USA Network series will be involved. Suits will make cameo appearances (although they’ve said they’d be up for it!). However, given the show’s recent massive surge in popularity, one wonders how long Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) and Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) can stay out of the legal fray once Suits: LA heats up.

So there is reason to be happy that a new Suits comes, fans will have to wait a little longer to see if their favorite character will be back and what it will be like to follow Amell and others as new characters in the glittering legal world of the City of Angels.
