Love Island viewers unimpressed by recent exit

Love Island Spoilers follow.

Love Island viewers were not impressed by the recent split that the other Islanders decided on.

In tonight’s episode (June 23), host Maya Jama entered the villa to announce the result of the public vote. Maya made her presence known as she walked in with her trademark strutting gait. “Can we meet by the fire pit please?” she instructed the eager islanders who had gathered to learn their fate.

“I have very important news. The public has voted for their favorite couple. The couples with the fewest votes are in danger of being kicked off the island today.”

As the newest islanders, sex bombs Matilda and Konnor were excluded from the public vote.

Maya announced the couples saved by the public, leaving Ronnie and Tiffany, Jess and Omar, Joey and Grace, and Uma and Wil defenseless. The safe islanders had to decide which boy and girl to dump.

Ultimately, it was Omar and Tiffany who were kicked off the island. But fans on Twitter/X were not impressed with the decision.

“Wrong decision, Omar deserves to stay very smart #loveIsland” said a fan. “I was looking forward to seeing Tiffany’s journey. I feel like it was cut short #loveIsland” said another.

Elsewhere, fans were frustrated that the vote had no impact on the final result. “Why give the audience a vote if it means nothing? #loveisland” said“Should only depend on the viewers #loveisland” wrote another.

One third added: “Say it every year but can we please stop giving the public vote back to the islanders @LoveIsland #loveIsland”.

After being dumped, Omar looked back on his time with Matilda: “I know I tried my best to get to know her and who knows, maybe the relationship could have developed even further if I had stayed in the villa.”

Tiffany also explained her decision to break up with Ronnie: “Ultimately, something was missing, so I had to be honest with him and stay true to myself and my feelings.”

Love Island will be broadcast on ITV2 and streamed on ITVX.
