Ariana Grande responds to concerns about her voice

Former “Voice” coach Ariana Grande went viral on X after someone shared a video of her speaking. During an appearance on the podcast “Podcrushed,” Grande’s voice completely changed as she spoke in a deeper tone.

Someone shared a clip of the June 12 episode on X and it has been viewed more than 17 million times. Many fans were completely shocked at how different Grande’s voice sounded when she talked about recording new music.

Grande is doing press work for her new album “Forget Me Not!”. She is also promoting her new film “Wicked”. The first part of the film is scheduled to hit theaters in November.

Ariana Grande has addressed her voice change

Fans couldn’t help but wonder why Grande’s voice changed so drastically during the interview.

“I like her original voice! Why does she do that?” wondered one fan.

“Does she do method acting?” someone else asked.

“I really want to know what her real voice is like because I miss the old one,” read a third comment.

“Singers who invest heavily in their vocal abilities often speak in higher tones to preserve those abilities. I’d bet it has nothing to do with ‘staying in character’. She’s doing the same thing Michael Jackson did throughout his career,” a fourth X-user explained.

Someone shared a clip of the podcast episode on TikTok and Grande took a moment to explain. In the comments section, the “The Boy Is Mine” singer popped up and said that her voice change is nothing new.

“Habit (of speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health 🙂 I intentionally change my vocal pitch (high/low) often depending on how much I sing. I’ve always done it this way, BYE,” she wrote.

Fans noticed a change in Ariana Grande’s voice at the 2024 Academy Awards

Grande’s interview on “Podcrushed” wasn’t the first time fans noticed something seemingly unusual about her voice.

Some fans were quick to draw comparisons to Austin Butler, who took on the role of Elvis Presley in the movie “Elvis” and changed his entire voice and personality to truly immerse himself in the character.

“Austin Butler’s Elvis voice but it’s Ariana Grande’s Galinda voice,” wrote one X-user, implying that the same thing happened with Grande and her role as Galinda in “Wicked.” Another X-user felt similarly, writing, “Oh no Austin Butler, look what you did with Ariana’s voice.”

A third person felt the same way. “She’s entered her Austin Butler era,” the X-user said.

Aside from the fact that Grande’s voice seems similar to Galinda’s in “Wicked,” she and co-star Cynthia Erivo also dressed appropriately for their roles. Erivo wore a green dress to portray Elphaba, while Grande wore a puffy pink dress to portray Galinda.

After filming was completed, Grande said goodbye to the cast and crew in her Instagram stories.

“I will never forget a minute of my years with her. Or with you. Or with my Cyn. Forever and dearly intertwined. I am so inexplicably grateful we got to add so many drenched lashes to the @jonmchu collection,” she wrote, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
