Ben Affleck is reportedly avoiding Jennifer Lopez because he fears “J.Lo will destroy him in the divorce war.”

Although he still wears his wedding ring occasionally, sources suspect he is afraid of “announcing the separation by taking it off” and sparking an ugly divorce battle with Lopez.

An insider told RadarOnline“Ben never expected Jennifer to accept his decision to leave her. But he is appalled by how hard it is for her to let go and he lives in fear of how far she will push it!” The once fairytale couple have been living apart since early May, when Affleck rented a house in Brentwood and moved out of their $60 million Beverly Hills mansion.

Divorce papers are said to be imminent, although Lopez was recently spotted with her manager Benny Medina in New York City wearing her wedding ring, which sources believe is a tactic to exert control over Affleck.

The insider claimed: “She insisted they wear their rings and then threw a tantrum when he was clearing out his things. No wonder he’s a wreck!”

Affleck and Lopez have “deeper problems”

Another source told People that the Hollywood couple’s marital problems had nothing to do with their celebrity status; there were “deeper issues.”

The source said, “The idea that Ben thinks Jennifer is too famous and didn’t know what he was getting into with all the attention on their marriage is not true,” adding, “There are deeper issues.”

Affleck, on the other hand, is focused on spending time with his three children, whom he has with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. According to a source, “Ben can’t stand conflict right now, but she would rather argue than be ignored. Everyone knows you can’t mess with J.Lo and get away with it!”

The Deep Water star is also reportedly having issues with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Although Garner previously praised Affleck for his good relationship with the kids, sources suggest she is tired of helping him with his marital problems with Lopez.
