Lawrence Taylor, member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, arrested again

Member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Laurence Taylor was arrested again this week for an incident related to his previous sex crimes charge nearly three years ago. TMZ Sports reported.

Taylor, 65, turned himself in to Broward County police on Wednesday (July 17) for failing to report a change of name or residence as a sex offender and was released early Thursday morning (July 18). Attorney Mark Eiglarshwho represents Taylor, said in a statement to TMZ Sports.

“My client, Lawrence Taylor, will plead not guilty to the latest charges,” Eiglarsh said. “As with the previous incident involving the same allegations, Mr. Taylor did not knowingly commit a crime. This situation is a significant misunderstanding. We are confident that once prosecutors review the exculpatory evidence proving Mr. Taylor’s innocence, he will again obtain a favorable outcome.”

Taylor pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and visiting a prostitute after being accused in 2011 of having sex with a 16-year-old girl who he claimed was 19 at the time. The two-time Super Bowl champion was later arrested for failing to notify authorities of his arrest change in 2021, which he said was a “case of confusion.”

Taylor pleaded no contest to the residency restrictions imposed on people convicted of certain sex offenses and reduced the charges to a lesser charge. The Hall of Famer had previously been arrested for drug offenses after his playing career ended and for drunk driving in 2016.
