ATREYU announces new album with newly interpreted greatest hits: “The Pronoia Sessions” honors Chris Cornell with a cover of Audioslave’s “Like A Stone”

American metalcore greats Atreyu passionately return to the hearts of fans around the world with “The Pronoia Sessions”a new collection of eight reinterpreted greatest hits and two nostalgic tribute covers. The band shared the following about the upcoming release: “For us, this album was something that originally came from the fans. During Covid, we started playing around with doing acoustic performances for the first time in our career. Since the release of Gone (reinterpreted)”the enthusiasm and interest from our fans was overwhelming. It got us thinking… what if we didn’t just make some of our classics acoustic, but took them to a whole new place? We believe that with this album we have created a new home for these songs where they can stand on their own. They are new elements in our musical landscape.

“Working on this album gave us so much joy and creativity. It was as if the universe had given us this moment and it was so destined to happen… so, “The Pronoia Sessions”.”

Today, exactly in line with what should have been, Chris CornellOn the occasion of Audioslave’s 60th anniversary on July 20, the band shares news about the album and also presents their first single, an emotional version of Audioslave’s ‘Like a stone’.

Comment on the track: Atreyu had the following to say: “The covers on this album gave us the opportunity to make some of our favorite songs our own. The album has an overarching, dark mood. We wanted songs that stayed in that realm. ‘Like A Stone’ is one of the most iconic rock songs of our time.” Chris Cornell‘s voice is a treasure. We hope we have done justice to his legacy.”

Atreyu is a band whose legacy is seamlessly interwoven with formative experiences of a diverse audience worldwide. “The Pronoia Sessions” deconstructs, recreates and reshapes the Orange County, California band’s beloved anthems (and covers) in a haunting and hypnotic new collection. What began as an acoustic album evolved into a gorgeous reinterpretation of the band’s classics.

The band’s origins go back to a series of acoustic performances at special events on the road. “We had the idea of doing a one-off show similar to Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged,” explains frontman Brandon Saller. “Then we thought, ‘Why don’t we spend some time in the studio with it?’ And it evolved from there. ‘How far can we push this?’ From there it evolved and unexpectedly turned into this monster.”

AtreyuThe riffs, hooks, melodies, lyrics and passion of are integral to the creation of a vibrant subculture in theaters, clubs, festivals, on the radio and on playlists. The artistic fearlessness that has made groundbreaking albums like “The Curse and the Lead Sail Paper Anchor” is even stronger in 2024. “Becoming the cop”one of the two gold singles from 2007, comes to life again “The Pronoia Sessions”.

The songs reinterpreted on the album date back to 2004. “The curse” (“Right side of the bed”) and 2006 “Yesterday in an iron grip” (“Ex-boyfriends and their friends”, ‘Theft’). Two of her biggest hits, ‘Warrior’ And ‘Save us’were revised from 2021 “To baptize”. And there are new versions of ‘Gone’ And ‘Drown’ from their latest release, 2023’s “The beautiful darkness of life”.

In addition to her own songs Atreyu offers dark interpretations Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers‘ classic “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” and endurance, Chris Cornell-led Audioslave ballad ‘Like a stone’.

“Let’s see how we can shake up what’s already there. On some of the older stuff, the vocals are more melodic, but the phrasing has stayed mostly the same.” Saller explained. “We have also added more band members. porter sings, like on ‘Ex’s & Ohs’. On ‘Right Side of the Bed’ there is a saxophone solo instead of a guitar solo, and it is Dan Playing saxophone.”

Free from false limitations that something sounds “too heavy” or “too pop”, Atreyu remains a creative beacon of hope for people devastated by the claim that “rock is dead.” They have made the top 10 of the Billboard 200 more than once; two of their albums have been certified gold.
