How long have you lived in the area? For about four years.

What is your profession? I was a police officer for 22 years. After that, I retired. I was a police officer in Genesee Township and then a deputy for Genesee County. I left there in 2019, was hired by the federal government in cybersecurity and still work there.

While in college I worked in construction and started a small pressure washing and painting business. And now to make money on the side I am a single dad raising two kids. I do pretty much anything, remodel houses, small remodels, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring. I can do drywall, roofing, siding, also landscaping and snow removal. I work on cars. If anyone could use me call 248-459-1333 or email me at [email protected].

What I enjoy most about being a police officer is making a difference in people’s lives. For example, I received a lifesaving award from Genesee County for saving someone’s life. There is no greater reward than that. In my side hustle, I enjoy going into people’s homes or properties and bringing vision to what they perceive as chaos and creating something they can enjoy with their family for years to come.

What are your interests and hobbies?? I work a lot. I enjoy golfing and fishing. I enjoy working on cars. My teenage son also loves working on cars, golfing, and fishing. Since I’ve been a single dad since my children were born, my daughter has had me wrapped around her little finger since the day she was born. She is the sweetest, most wonderful girl in the world.

Midlands Open Door, I have such strong ties to that place. Bob Marsh put me in touch with people at Open Door. I’ve donated and volunteered there. What they do for the community is just incredible. They donate freely and willingly to people who need it, the soup kitchen, the clothing drives. They just have such a big heart for people in hard times.

What do you like to do most in Midland? I love Tridge, the Canopy Walk in Dow Gardens, there are a lot of golf courses in Midland. I enjoy those. Pizza Sam’s downtown is amazing, Maru Sushi is amazing too. Diamond Jim’s, I’ve traveled all over the world and they have the best burgers I’ve ever had.

What do you like about this community? Midland is a small town community. Everyone really knows everyone. You can’t spend too much time without running into everyone, which I like. I also like living out on the creek. I have the best of both worlds, the luxuries of city life and the joys of country living.

What message do you want to convey to the community?? Love your family deeply and never give up on them. Show people the same grace, mercy, and forgiveness that we pray for ourselves. Do your best to pursue justice, but remember that we are all only human and fall short of the glory of God, so don’t blame yourself too much for past mistakes. Always remember that what Christ did on the cross was for everyone, including you, so show yourself the same grace, mercy, and forgiveness that you show others.
