Yes, Blake Shelton also had a mullet hairstyle as a teenager

It turns out that Blake Shelton has always been a fan of mullets.

As a teenager in Oklahoma in the early 1990s, Shelton wore his hair in a “business, party style” and the pictures are too good.

One from his yearbook shows Shelton wearing glasses and curls all over his face. In another he is wearing a Full house-worthy colorful shirt, beaming smile with his guitar. Check them both out here.

Of course, Shelton maintained this look throughout the early stages of his career, as you’ll see in the photo below.

Shelton rocked the mullet again in 2022

For the 90s video for his song “No Body,” Shelton wore his hair in the mullet style again. He explained Entertainment tonight“The thing about that song, when we cut it and listened to it again, I was like, ‘Man, I don’t know if we intended it that way, but it kind of sounds like ’90s country music to me… I was like, ‘Man, I’m just going to go back to the old Blake, put my hat back on, put on a mullet wig and make a video.'”

And while it works for the video, he won’t be going back to that cut anytime soon. “It’s hot, it just sticks to my neck,” Shelton added in the ET Interview. “It drives me crazy. I immediately remembered (while wearing the wig) how much my hair used to get on my nerves.”

Blake Shelton has returned to his home state of Oklahoma

In 1994, Shelton left the Sooner State to pursue his music career in Nashville, Tennessee, a career that eventually led him to Los Angeles, where he worked as a long-time coach The voice. There he met his wife Gwen Stefani, and after he retired from the singing competition, he and Stefani spent a lot of time on their farm in his home state of Oklahoma.
