Fishers Century Club supports Shop For Kids charity

The Fishers Century Club announced that Shop For Kids was selected as the winning charity at the club meeting Tuesday evening in the recreation room of The Club | Knowledge Services, 9800 Crosspoint Blvd., Fishers.

Shop For Kids, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Hamilton County, raises funds from the community and local businesses so that police officers can accompany underprivileged children to Christmas shopping. The organization has been improving the lives of children for the past 15 years.

“I want to thank the people who attended and supported the Fishers Century Club. Your group of people uses the simple power of numbers to provide unexpected funds to a charity like Shop For Kids,” said Shop For Kids President Dustin Dixon. “These funds will benefit additional children in our community when officials take them out Christmas shopping later this year. I want to encourage people who want to network and learn about local organizations to come to the nearest Fishers Century Club.”

Dixon, who attended the Fishers Century Club meeting along with several other community-minded individuals, was chosen from a hat to introduce a charity of his choice. He introduced Shop For Kids, where he currently serves as board chair and is passionate about their mission. He told the group that officers work with children from across the community to give them both things they need and things they want.

The Fishers Century Club will meet again on September 17 to learn more about local charities and select the next quarterly winner. The September meeting is especially important because it will mark the Fishers Century Club surpassing the $40,000 mark in donations since its inception in mid-2021. The club’s goal is to continue to grow participation and reach 100 members each donating $100 per quarter, creating a meaningful impact of $10,000 at each quarterly meeting.
