A golf pro at Donald Trump’s club in Florida has revealed how good the former president really is on the course – after Trump argued with President Joe Biden about their handicaps.
Trump’s love of golf is well documented: The 78-year-old can often be seen on the courses of his clubs in Mar-a-Lago in Florida and Bedminster, New Jersey.
And after touting his golf skills at the presidential debate – and saying he had just won two club championships – the head golf professional at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, vouched for his ability.
“At our club championship in March, I saw President Trump hit a perfect 210-yard fore-iron to within 10 feet of the hole,” John Nieporte said at the Republican National Convention, according to Huff Post.
“He had to sink that putt to win. Do you think he sank it? You can be sure he sank that putt.”

President Biden claimed he lowered his handicap to six during his tenure as vice president – a claim Trump scoffed at.
Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba later claimed that Trump had “a damn good golf swing” and could even keep up with professional golfers.
“He can kick some of these guys’ asses,” Habba said.
On Thursday, Trump, accompanied by his wife Melania, signed the documents making him the Republican presidential candidate.
He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren as he prepared to speak at the RNC.

Previously, sports journalist Rick Reilly had accused Trump of cheating at golf and using a “turbocharged golf cart” that was faster than his opponents to move his balls.
In a conversation with Deadline White House in March, Reilly also claimed that Trump “has never won a championship on a golf course that he doesn’t own and operate.”
“I’ve always said golf is like cycling shorts. It tells you a lot about a guy,” Reilly said. “And what it tells you about this guy is that he can’t lose. He has to win and he’ll do anything to cheat.”
“And I know this because I played golf with him and he took seven mulligans. He took a ‘give me a chip-in.’ I’ve never heard of a ‘give me a chip-in.'”

Be that as it may, Trump is quite confident in his own golfing skills and had previously claimed during the debate that Biden “can’t hit a ball far.”
Biden later claimed that he had a handicap of six during his time as vice president – which Trump scoffed at – and subsequently called his political opponent a “child.”
Earlier this month, Trump surprisingly emerged as an outside candidate for captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup tournament after Tiger Woods reportedly turned down the role.
