NYS Fair adds Grammy-winning country singer to 2024 lineup

Another country music concert has been added to the New York State Fair’s 2024 schedule.

Crystal Gayle will perform at the NYS Fair’s Chevy Court on Wednesday, August 28th at 1pm. Admission to the concert is included in the price of admission to the fair.

Gayle is a Grammy-winning singer whose hits include “I’ve Cried the Blue Right Out of My Eyes” (written by her sister Loretta Lynn), “Talking in Your Sleep,” “Wrong Road Again,” “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” “The Woman in Me,” and “You Never Miss a Real Good Thing (Till He Says Goodbye).” She has released more than 25 albums since 1975, most recently covering classic country hits for 2019’s “You Don’t Know Me: Classic Country.”

Gayle has been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and Christian Music Hall of Fame, honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, received several awards from the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and the American Music Awards, and has been honored for her charitable work, including recording the official theme song for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and serving as co-host of the Arthritis Foundation’s benefit telethon for three years.

The 2024 New York State Fair will run from August 21 to September 2 and will feature 39 national acts. Gayle’s concert will take place on Women’s Day, where Danielle Ponder and Joan Jett will also perform.

National artists are expected to perform daily on the fair’s main stages. Chevy Court will host shows at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., while the larger Suburban Park will host shows at 8 p.m. (Suburban Park will not have afternoon shows this year).
