Chris Cuomo is not a fan of presidential debates and dismisses them as pomp – but he says that is not the case with next week’s confrontation between Joe Biden And Donald Trump.
Cuomo was on TMZ Live on Friday … and he believes the debate will be a major test for Biden, not on policy issues but on how he is perceived.
As the NewsNation anchor puts it, “If Joe takes the debate stage and performs well, Trump will regret all the jibes, like comparing him to cartoon characters and mocking his cognitive abilities.”
But if Biden looks like “poop” – Cuomo’s words, not ours – it could change the course of the upcoming Democratic National Convention.
CC says he knows JB’s tendencies well – and believes that if he is attacked in the debate, he will have a “man in the mirror” moment and wonder if he should throw in the towel and resign … when it becomes clear he can’t beat Trump.
So Chris’s view is that there is a lot at stake, especially for the incumbent president.
