Ozi, Voice of the Forest – an indie animation film by Leonardo DiCaprio Appian Way ProductionsOscar-winning producer Mike Medavoy and GCI Film – will be released in cinemas in several countries on August 16th.

Directed by Tim Harper, the film highlights the threat of deforestation and the challenges facing the rainforest ecosystem. Follow Ozi, an orphaned orangutan, as she uses her skills as an influencer to save her home. Written by Ricky Roxburgh from an original story by Rodrigo Blaas and Keith Chapman, the film features an all-star cast including Amandla Stenberg, Dean Charles Chapman, Djimon Hounsou, Donald Sutherland, Laura Dern, RuPaul Charles and Urzila Carlson.

Mikros Animation of the Technicolor Group oversaw creative development and CGI animation by 300 experts from around the world, with a focus on storytelling and social concerns.

With the animation style of this film, we wanted to create something that was both fun and whimsical. Our ultimate goal was to combine art and entertainment with messages about global deforestation.
