When Pakistani actor Kishore Kumar sang the classic song, everyone was impressed by him, including Amitabh Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor. He appeared on the show during the promotion of his debut Bollywood film. “Can this guy do anything wrong?” asked a fan in the comments section. “And now I’m back here.” said another female follower, referring to Zakir Khan’s popular joke. “Fawad has my heart. I can die for him.” wrote a third.

On his 40th birthday, he sang the same song again and caused a sensation on the Internet with the viral clip.

Did you know that Fawad Khan started out as a singer?

A well-known name on the subcontinent, Fawad Khan has a bachelor’s degree in software engineering. He once revealed that he started acting when he was unemployed. “I couldn’t make money from programming. I was a terrible computer engineer. I was down and out and became an actor to make money,” he had told Deccan Chronicle.

Even before he became an actor, he tried his hand at singing. Fawad, who could play guitar, bass and drums, was the lead singer of the band Entity paradigm and even took part in the reality show entitled Pepsi band fight. The band finished second in the show. Fawad and his band also performed at Coke Studio Season 3, and with it the release of the single Shor Macha, in whose video Khan appeared. After over 250 performances, he gave up singing to concentrate on his acting career.
