Does Marvel confirm the death?

The next Captain America movie is just around the corner—and by “just around the corner,” we mean 2025—and Marvel seems to be taking bold steps to reveal that a fan-favorite Avenger is dead.

During the recent trailer for Captain America: Brave New World We saw a brief cut to a funeral scene, and fans are already heartbroken about what this could mean.

Captain America: Brave New World will be in cinemas next year

Of course we jump to conclusions, but some believe that good old Steve Rogers is in this coffin.

After all, we don’t know what happened to the original Captain America after he handed his shield over to Sam and walked off into the sunset.

If his death is confirmed, he probably died of old age rather than at the hands of a criminal. And the funeral certainly looks like that of an American hero.

Given the flag-covered coffin and the gun salutes, it is obviously a military funeral, which points to Cap.

However, and more likely, it could be President Ross, played by Harrison Ford. We know that Ross is the Red Hulk in the new film, so it could be the President who “dies” to spend the rest of his life as the Hulk.

This is also supported by the fact that Liv Tyler, who plays Ross’ daughter in the film, was seen in set photos at this funeral scene and she has no direct connection to Steve Rogers.

Of course, this raises the question of whether Rogers is already dead at this point. His super soldier serum may keep him alive longer than the average human, but he may also have died of old age by now.

No other MCU project has dealt with the original Captain America since then Avengers: Endgame and some say Rogers deserves a proper Marvel death scene in the movie so fans can mourn him. Either way, make sure you bring tissues, just in case.
