Tesla executive assures Cybertruck light bar will be available to Cyberbeast Foundation Series customers ‘soon’ – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Owners of Cyberbeasts from the Foundation series will “soon” receive a retrofittable ceiling light bar. Tesla Inc TSL executive Siddhant Awasthi said on Wednesday.

What happened: Customers of the Foundation Series Cyberbeast will receive the ceiling light bar first, Awasthi confirmed to a Tesla enthusiast on the social media platform on Wednesday XAwasthi is the Cybertruck Vehicle Program Manager at Tesla.

The light bar illuminates the upper end of the vehicle’s windshield, emphasizing the angular design. It is designed for off-road use and should be retrofitted.

The company already offers several accessories, including products in its online store designed specifically for the Cybertruck. Earlier this week, Tesla launched a $300 tailgate protector and $100 child seats for the Cybertruck in its store.

Why it is important: There are currently two variants of the Cybertruck available, namely the all-wheel drive version starting at $79,990 and the higher-end Cyberbeast version starting at an estimated $99,990. A cheaper rear-wheel drive version will be available in 2025 and is expected to cost $60,990 and have a shorter range of about 250 miles.

The Foundation Series, meanwhile, refers to the first few Cybertrucks the company produces. It’s unclear how many Foundation Series units Tesla plans to produce. However, in late June, Tesla sent an email to Cybertruck reservation holders saying that due to “continued high demand,” the company intends to deliver only the Foundation Series Cybertrucks through the end of 2024.

Tesla began delivering the Cybertruck in late November. During Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting in early June, Musk said the company had reached a weekly production record of 1,300 Cybertrucks. The company is now ramping up production further to reach 2,500 units per week by the end of the year, with the goal of delivering 250,000 Cybertrucks annually starting in 2025.
