Amanda Fisher, director of NFIB Michigan State, issued the following statement on the new polls:

“This new poll makes one thing clear: Michiganders know America is on the wrong track. The only thing Washington offers them is burdensome regulations and failed, unpopular policies. Politicians in Washington (can we add “and in Lansing”? If not, no problem) should stand up for small business and end harmful regulations like the EPA’s gas-powered car ban. It’s time to reverse course before it’s too late.” Amanda Fisher, NFIB Director for Michigan

AFPM President and CEO Chet Thompson issued the following statement on the new polls:

“This new poll underscores what we’ve been hearing for months from Americans of all political stripes: that they don’t want the government to ban gas cars, mandate electric vehicles, or impose regulations that limit access to the types of cars that best fit a family’s needs and budget.

“Elected officials should take note that the American people care about this issue and are eagerly waiting to see if Congress will step up and repeal the EPA’s regulation banning the sale of most new gasoline-powered cars.” -Chet Thompson, President and CEO of AFPM

Methodology:

The poll was conducted from June 29 to July 1, 2024. 584 likely voters in the 2024 General Election participated in the poll. The poll was weighted to match the expected demographic turnout in the 2024 General Election. The margin of error is +/-4% at a 95% confidence level. Due to rounding, totals do not always add up to 100%.
