Travis Kelce attends Eras tour concert in “Swiftkirchen”, Germany

Oh, hello, Travis Kelce!

Fans noticed that the Kansas City tight end was watching the Eras Tour from a suite in the Veltins Arena on Wednesday, wearing a dark T-shirt and a white cap.

The Gelsenkirchen performance is Kelce’s twelfth since he and Taylor Swift went public last September. He performed his first concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, then in Sydney, two nights in Singapore, the last night in Paris, all three nights in London, one night in Dublin and two nights in Amsterdam.

Will Kelce be on stage in Germany?

Kelce may make a second cameo appearance on stage in Gelsenkirchen. In his podcast “New Heights” he likes to make not-so-subtle hints.

After carrying Swift during her “Tortured Poets” performance in London last night, the football player told his brother Jason and the Swifties, “You guys need to keep showing up on the Eras tour to see if I jump off the stage or something.”

Although the singer still has 35 more concerts in 10 cities, the tight end is expected back at the Chiefs’ training camp from July 21 to August 15, and a preseason game will take place during her performances at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom.

Swift interrupts German concert because of desperate fan

“We need some help back there, thank you very much,” Swift said, guitar in hand, before singing her song “Betty.”

Wearing a cream-colored “Folklore” dress, the singer-songwriter strutted down the runway. “Right there,” she told stadium staff before singing, “I’ll wait until I see it happen.”

Swift has paused at 47 percent of her European shows to ensure that desperate fans in the packed, empty seats are helped. The interruptions occur during a number of different songs and at different times, but usually just before one of her speeches before “All Too Well,” “Betty” or “Champagne Problems.” She then thanks stadium staff when they rush to get to a fan.

“The incredible crew at this stadium are so quick to get to you and help you make sure you have water and take care of your supplies,” she said of the staff at the Veltins Arena. “I always really appreciate that when we play in a stadium and they really take care of the people who come to the concerts. It’s just incredible.”

As staff approached the fan seeking help, Swift continued with the Eras Tour show and said, “Anyway, this is a story I wrote about a girl named ‘Betty.'”

Welcome to Swiftkirchen

Thirty creative and fun yellow “Swiftkirchen” signs are spread around Gelsenkirchen. The colorful signs feature a magenta outline of Swift’s Eras Tour poster photo with classic Swift iconography (hearts, heart-shaped glasses, stars, a butterfly and a guitar).

The brilliant idea comes from teenager Aleshanee Westhoff from Emmerich. In an Instagram video of the 25th most populous German city, the die-hard Swiftie submitted a petition to temporarily change the name of the city.

“The temporary renaming of Gelsenkirchen to ‘Swiftkirchen’ is a great idea,” explained Mayor Karin Welge in a letter to Westhoff, “which is why I am particularly pleased that you can experience the short-term ‘renaming’ of Gelsenkirchen.”

The name “Swiftkirchen” means something like “Swift’s Church.” Swift will perform in front of 60,000 screaming fans at the Veltins Arena on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The singer-songwriter will be performing seven shows in Germany. Next week she will be traveling to Hamburg and Munich.
