Charli XCX fans have criticised the singer for charging £35 for black and white T-shirts featuring the logo of her new album.

The 31-year-old from Essex received much praise from critics for her sixth album “brat”, which even started an entirely new movement, with her lyrics inspiring Generation Z to abandon the once fashionable “clean girl” style in favor of grungy style and eccentric behavior.

Charli XCX described the brat aesthetic to the BBC as follows: “Trashy. Just like a pack of cigarettes and a Bic lighter. And a white top with straps. No bra. That’s pretty much all you need.”

Merchandise for the new album includes T-shirts, water bottles and keychains – but fans are dismayed at the price of this collection, which is anything but grunge.

The 360 ​​singer announced the new collection by posing on a balcony, wearing simple dark jeans and her white cropped t-shirt with the name of her album in black graffiti writing on the garment.

She captioned the post “Let’s go shopping” and included the link to her shop.

However, fans of her music found the merchandise too expensive and were outraged at the prices at which she sold her clothes.

One wrote: “Real fans made their own lol,” while another said: “Girl your fans are out of work.”

A third wrote: “Girl the prices are too high,” and a fourth joked: “Capitalism is a knife,” based on Charli’s song “Sympathy is a Knife.”

Another chimed in, commenting, “These prices are so confusing. Do you think we’re Swifties or something?”

Others expressed disappointment that the clothing will not be delivered until August 26, at the end of the summer.

One fan commented: “Is it not shipping until the end of August? Brat Summer is a lie.”

“Brat” debuted at number two on the UK album charts and also reached the top ten in numerous other countries, including America.

Within days, Charli XCX was leading a new movement: slime-green flags flew in the crowd at Glastonbury, proclaiming the start of Brat Girl Summer.

Her hit “365,” which has been streamed over 25 million times on Spotify, sums up the behavior of a brat. The lyrics read: “No, I never go home, don’t sleep, don’t eat, just keep doing it. When I’m in the club, I’m a 3-6-5 party girl.”

Online shopping platform Etsy reported a 40 percent increase in searches for lime green home accessories and furniture since the release of “Brat.”

Meanwhile, others are showing their connection to Brat Girl Summer with Charli XCX’s viral TikTok dance to her hit “Apple.”

The simple routine was created by TikTok user Kelley Heyer last month and took the internet by storm.

Celebrities are no exception: Daisy Edgar-Jones shared a video in which she performs the dance to the catchy song together with her co-stars Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos.
