Stray Kids will be featured on the soundtrack of “Deadpool and Wolverine”

Marvel Entertainment released the title list for Deadpool and WolverineThe soundtrack will be released on Wednesday, including a feature that has been years in the making.

Stray Kids, the eight-member K-pop supergroup, will contribute a seemingly new song titled “Slash” to the soundtrack. The boy group, which hails from Korean company JYP Entertainment, has a long history with Dead Pool and Ryan Reynolds himself.

In 2021, Stray Kids participated in the Korean music reality show and eventually took first place Kingdom: Legendary War. In the eighth episode of the show, the boy group played an incredibly entertaining mashup of their hit “God’s Menu” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU” by Blackpink. A clear homage to Dead PoolStray Kids member Felix opens the performance dressed as Reynolds’ character and delivers a cheeky opening monologue reminiscent of something from the film.

Fans of the K-pop group shared clips of Reynolds, who eventually commented, “Oh, hello @stray_kids,” sparking a mutual admiration between the group and the actor. Over the past few years, the band and Reynolds have consistently expressed mutual admiration for each other on social media, with Bang Chan, the leader and eldest of the group, even interviewing the actor while promoting his film. Free guy.

Earlier this month, Reynolds posted a video on social media with Felix and Bang Chan while promoting Deadpool and Wolverine with Hugh Jackman in South Korea. The video shows Reynolds jumping on the “pass the phone” social media trend by saying, “Passing my phone here to my favorite Australian,” pausing on Jackman before finally landing on Felix and Bang Chan (who also happen to be from Australia). The actor captioned the post, “As they say in Seoul: Chk Chk Boom,” a reference to the first single from Stray Kids’ upcoming EP ASA.

Among the other artists appearing on Deadpool and WolverineThe soundtrack was written by Jackman himself. “The Greatest Show” – a song from Jackman’s 2017 film The greatest showmanin which he appears as PT Barnum – is one of the 18 songs on the soundtrack. How it will be integrated into the film is still unclear.
