TTM+ 2024 is expected to generate economic and business value of 4.4 billion baht

Bangkok, July 18, 2024 – The Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2024, to be held in Khao Lak, Phang-Nga from June 5 to 7, is expected to generate 4,428.98 million baht for the Thai economy, according to survey responses from buyers and sellers participating in the event.

Under the theme “Amazing Thailand: Their Stories Never End”, the 21st edition of TTM+ focused on moving Thai tourism towards high value-added and sustainability and reflected the government’s vision of “Inspiring Thailand’s Tourism”.

Ms Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, said “TTM+ 2024 buyer and seller survey responses showed results that exceeded almost all of the targets set. The performance underscores the confidence in Thailand as a preferred destination.”

TTM+ 2024 saw strong participation with 418 buyers from established and new source markets from 50 countries and 430 sellers from Thailand, exceeding the target of 150 each. Over 100 Thai and foreign media also participated.

The event saw 14,792 business meetings between buyers and sellers, four times the target of 3,500 meetings.

Specifically, the survey responses from 57% of salespeople revealed that a total of 12,729 business meetings were held, or an average of 29.60 meetings. Of these, sales opportunities were secured in approximately 59.60% or 7,585.89 meetings.

This equates to 92,472 visitor arrivals in Thailand or an economic and business value of 4,428.98 million baht. The revenue estimate is based on an average stay of 9.26 days and average daily expenditure of 5,172.29 baht.

As part of TAT’s efforts to achieve more sustainable and carbon neutral tourism, the “Zero Waste to Landfills” campaign at TTM+ 2024 successfully separated 2,701.4 kilograms of waste for proper disposal. This helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1,139.67 kilos of CO2, equivalent to the absorption of carbon dioxide by 126.63 trees per year. The project also donated food to local communities in Phang-Nga.

Next year the TTM+ will take place in Chiang Mai in June.
