Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club raises entry fee to million

Donald Trump’s private club Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach wants to increase its joining fee from $700,000 to a whopping $1 million.

The former president and Republican candidate for 2024 made this revelation in an extensive interview with Bloomberg Business Week a few days before the fateful debate with President Joe Biden.

When Mar-a-lago’s longtime general manager stopped by during the interview, Trump “proudly” said the club would increase its dues by $300,000 in October and open four spots for new members.

The increased fee could be an indication that proximity to Trump is becoming increasingly valuable as he appears to be on the verge of a possible return to the White House.

Trump bought Mar-a-Lago in Florida in 1985 and converted it into a private club nine years later. It has been his primary residence since 2019, when he officially left New York and lived in Florida. During his tenure as president, he hosted world leaders at the club, including the late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping. On July 11, Trump hosted Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the club.

Biden’s performance in the debate shocked many as he appeared confused and weak. Trump has taken the lead in several polls after the debate – in FiveThirtyEights The poll average has him 2 percentage points ahead of Biden since Wednesday.

“The debate certainly had a big impact,” he said Bloomberg on July 9, just four days before the attack on a rally.

Trump was struck by a bullet in the right ear before he was quickly covered by Secret Service agents. Two people, including the gunman, were killed in the shooting and two others were seriously injured.

“Many states are just beginning to open up, and it shows a very big turnaround,” Trump said Bloomberg after the debate.

The former president was asked whether his opponent should step down as the Democratic candidate.

“That is a decision he has to make,” he said. “But I think our country is in great danger whether he stays in or gets out.”
