Friends of the Lompoc Library host quarterly book sale

The Friends of the Lompoc Public Library System hosts their quarterly book sale Thursday through Saturday.

Organizers spent Wednesday morning preparing over 197 boxes of books, games, puzzles and DVDs for sale.

Proceeds from book sales go to the Lompoc Library and the Vandenberg Village Library.

The Friends of the Lompoc Library told KSBY that they donated $22,000 to the library in recent months from previous book sales.

Kay Duffy-Taylor, a member of the Friends of the Lompoc Library book sales committee, said the library meets many needs of the city of Lompoc.

“Our libraries offer many more services than just lending books. They offer free lunches for children in the summer. They have summer reading programs,” Duffy-Taylor said. “It’s critical for us to be able to make sure they have the resources they need to serve the citizens and residents of Lompoc.”

The book sale begins with an exclusive sale for Friends of the Lompoc Library members on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Interested parties can register and pay for membership at the door.

The sale will then be open to the public on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
