Sport in brief: The Ski Club’s Springer Tour is holding a competition on the large hill on Saturday

The Ski Club’s Springer Tour will host a competition on the large hill on Saturday

The Park City Ski and Snowboard Club will host the large hill competition of its Springer Tour Saturday night at Utah Olympic Park. The ski jumpers will fly from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for visitors ages 13 and older, while children under 12 can attend for free. Salt Lake City band Theoretical Blonde will play at the event, and there will also be food trucks and beer on tap. The competition will cap off the 25th Springer Tour, which included a week of training, mentoring and competition in ski jumping and Nordic combined.

Flying Aces return to UOP this weekend



The Flying Aces aerial acrobatics shows return to Utah Olympic Park on Friday and Saturday nights. Visitors can watch aerialists from the Olympic and national teams soar up to 60 feet in the air before landing in the UOP pool. Shows run nightly from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person, with a four-pack available for $70. The Flying Aces will be soaring at the UOP through Labor Day weekend.

Woodward hosts the second event of the Summer Race Series



Woodward Park City will host its second Summer Race Series event next Thursday. All riders ages seven and older are welcome. Tickets are $5 for members and $25 for non-members. The race course is unique to this event and will be announced the day of the race. Refreshments and awards will be available after the race. Racing classes are men and women ages 7-9, 10-13, 14-17 and 18 and older. The top three finishers in each class will take home an award and Woodward merchandise.
