The John Cooper School Fine Arts Council is pleased to announce that Lisa Jewell, New York Times bestselling author of None of this is trueis the keynote speaker at the 20th Annual Signatures Author Series event, taking place on December 6, 2024, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center.

Jewell is a master of the psychological thriller and has written bestsellers, including the cult novel None of this is truewhich is currently being developed at Netflix. Jewell’s latest book, Breaking through the darknessis the first book in the long-awaited Marvel crime series. Lisa Jewell’s first novel, Ralph’s Party, was published in 1999 and was the best-selling debut novel of that year. Since then she has published a further twenty-one novels, most recently a series of dark psychological thrillers including Then She Was Gone, The Family Upstairs and None of This is True. Lisa is a New York Times and Sunday Times #1 author who has sold over ten million books worldwide and is published in over twenty-five languages. The John Cooper School Signatures Author Series Luncheon is a highly anticipated annual literary event benefiting the school’s Fine Arts programs. Keynote speakers include bestselling authors Barbara Bush, Dave Barry, Mitch Albom, Anthony Bourdain, John Grogan, Nicholas Sparks, Candace Bushnell, Kathryn Stockett with Tate Taylor, Jodi Picoult, Tyler Florence, Gillian Flynn, Cheryl Strayed, Paula Hawkins, Kevin Kwan, Maria Semple, Jesmyn Ward, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Elin Hilderbrand, and Alka Joshi. The luncheon also features guest authors, book signings, and a Signatures-themed drawing.

Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the Signatures Author Series are donated to a local literary organization. The 2023 Signatures Literacy Award recipient was Children’s Books on Wheels. Past recipients include the Montgomery County Library System and the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation.

The mission of Children’s Books on Wheels is to promote reading by providing books, educational literature, and community resources for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.th-grade students and their families in rural communities and major cities. Children’s Books on Wheels (CBOW) is a 501c3 nonprofit, community-based mobile literacy organization that promotes literacy by providing free books, educational literature, and community resources in multiple languages ​​to children and their families.
