Janel Grant takes legal action against Peak Wellness over WWE allegations

Janel Grant takes legal action against Peak Wellness over WWE allegations

The world of pro wrestling was rocked when Janel Grant filed suit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE. The sex trafficking allegations and other horrific accusations ended McMahon’s employment with the company he built into a global heavyweight. Currently, the case is on hold pending further investigations. Now we’re getting more information on what’s developing.

Former WWE employee Janel Grant has filed a motion to take evidence in court against Peak Wellness, Inc. and its owner Dr. Carlon M. Colker. The motion seeks information related to Grant’s previous lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE and John Laurinaitis alleging sex trafficking and abuse. That lawsuit is currently on hold while the U.S. government conducts its investigation.

The complaint alleges that Dr. Colker regularly treats WWE employees and contains several new allegations related to the earlier lawsuit. Grant’s petition describes her interactions with Dr. Colker, detailing his treatments and the lack of transparency regarding the drugs and IVs he prescribed.

Grant, who worked for WWE from June 2019 to March 2022, claims she was referred to Dr. Colker by McMahon because of her fatigue and insomnia. Over the course of two years, she visited Dr. Colker or other doctors at Peak Wellness more than 60 times. The treatments, including “adrenal tablets” and weekly intravenous infusions, allegedly left her feeling unwell, and Dr. Colker did not explain what those treatments entailed.

Grant also alleges that a Peak Wellness employee was involved in multiple instances of sexual abuse by McMahon. During her last visit to Peak Wellness, Dr. Colker reportedly asked her to sign a statement stating that she would need to provide a credit card for her visits, but she refused.

Grant’s attorney requested her medical records in electronic form from Peak Wellness in February and March 2024. However, only paper copies were provided, which Grant and her attorney found incomplete and inaccurate. They noticed discrepancies in billing and medical records.

The filing further states that McMahon or WWE paid over $51,000 toward Grant’s medical bills and alleges that Dr. Colker recommended an attorney to Grant during negotiations over a non-disclosure agreement approved by McMahon.

Grant is requesting records and testimony from Peak Wellness and Dr. Colker regarding their treatments, billing practices and communications with McMahon. She wants to find out whether they were civil conspirators in her lawsuits against McMahon and WWE and whether they falsified records or committed other violations.

Vince McMahon’s spokesperson responded that Grant’s request violates the court-ordered stay and is intended to generate publicity and harass people associated with McMahon. They claim Grant asked McMahon for a doctor’s recommendation and spoke positively about Dr. Colker.

Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, countered that they did not violate the federal stay by filing a lawsuit against a non-defendant. We will be keeping an eye on this case for further developments.
