“I couldn’t really tell you what their music sounded like,” added the Girls in a band Author. “When it comes to pop icons, I would choose Billie Eilish.”

However, Gordon knows one thing about Swift’s artistic ability: her diary-like poetry. In an interview with The guard to promote their latest album, The collectiveshe compared her current writing style with that of Swift.

“Of course I write a diary, just like Taylor Swift,” Gordon said at the time. “But you know, I don’t write about sad things. Well, I guess a little sad. There’s something powerful about that kind of writing. It’s something you can do right now.”

Elsewhere in the February interview, Gordon also expressed unfamiliarity with Swift’s catalog and discussed whether or not she would open for the pop superstar on her tour.

“I don’t know. Because I don’t think their audience would like that. It has to be a little bit right,” she said. “Even when Sonic Youth were touring with Neil Young, it was really hard to see hippies sitting there giving you the middle finger.”

Gordon continued, “Also, I couldn’t tell you what their music sounds like, but I was on a plane with all their fans the other day on the way to Utah and they were all wearing merchandise. I like that a lot. I think I’d just take a sweatshirt with me.”
