On the morning of July 5, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of an injured person near Shields and Fairfax Avenue, just outside of Mendota.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to a nearby cornfield where they discovered the body of 37-year-old Antonio Torres Ochoa of Mendota.

The homicide squad identified 38-year-old Javier Medina, also known as “Juju,” as the main suspect.

After detectives executed a search warrant on his home, they arrested Medina on suspicion of murder.
